I found this via a google search for Steampunk, and found the blog http://steampunkworkshop.com And a woman linked to the KMODDL site because she’s using it to help her build a mechanical beating heart for the Burning Man project.

I thought this was pretty cool - I know there’s a woman who’s going completely plastic free for life. Plastic is made from oil. Oil is a finite resource. We make a lot of unnecessary plastic.
Plastic is good for us too. It helps preserve food, has helped medical advances. It’s sturdy and easy to clean.
